Delays in payment are decreasing; so are the amounts the employers owe their crews. It is way better than a year ago, but according to the National Labor Inspectorate, the irregularity scale is still large.
Latest research of the National Labor Inspectorate (PIP) shows that during the first seven months of this year, employers were in arrears in payments of 78.8 million PLN for around 44.000 employees. A year before it was worse by far – over 62.000 people were waiting for overdue salaries; employers owed them as much as 123 million PLN.
Payment gridlocks become more of a problem for entrepreneurs as well.
Also, there are still dishonest companies, which get cheaper loans by delaying salary payments. Although this is rare, there is also a certain group of criminal entrepreneurs who count on using their employees and then disappearing with their earnings.
