Poland’s mass events sector continued to expand in 2025. Growth was visible not only in the number of events held, but above all in the impressive attendance figures, which increased much faster than the market offering itself. A total of 7,000 events were organized across the country, attracting as many as 30.7 million participants.
Event scale is growing faster than event numbers
Statistical data confirms that the market is evolving toward larger-scale events. While the number of events increased by 1.9% year on year, the number of participants surged by as much as 8.7%. This shows that Poles’ interest in large sports, entertainment, and cultural events remains strong.
On average, around 4,400 people attended each mass event. At the same time, the statistics reveal strong regional polarization:
- Mazowieckie Voivodeship: the attendance leader, with an average of 5,800 people per event.
- Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship: the lowest average attendance, at 2,100 people.
- These figures clearly show that the largest productions are concentrated in regions with the strongest demographic potential and the best-developed infrastructure.
Silesia and Mazovia as the market’s main growth engines
Geographically, the dominance of two regions is unmistakable. Silesian and Mazowieckie voivodeships together accounted for more than 25% of all mass events in the country. The highest number of events took place in Silesia, while Lubuskie Voivodeship ranked at the opposite end of the list. The key factors behind this success remain modern technical infrastructure, high population density, and the organizational experience of local entities.
Sport leads, concerts are catching up
Sport remained the undisputed leader of the market, accounting for 51.5% of all mass events in 2025. The artistic and entertainment segment was also highly active, with 3,400 events organized in this category, up 8.3% year on year. Within this segment, concerts proved dominant, making up more than two-thirds of all events.
Interest increased in both sectors, although sport attracted more new spectators:
- Sports events: 1.5 million more participants than in 2024.
- Artistic and entertainment events: an increase of 0.9 million participants.
- In total, the Polish market grew by 2.5 million participants in just twelve months.
Commercialization and a shift toward open-air formats
Today’s mass events market is an almost fully formalized and commercial sector. As many as 85% of participants attended ticketed events. In sport, this model is standard, with tickets accounting for more than 98% of attendance, while in the entertainment segment paid admission applied to around 67% of guests.
An interesting trend is the changing preference for event locations. Although indoor venues, such as halls and roofed stadiums, still form the backbone of the market, their share declined slightly. At the same time, the open-air offer gained clear momentum. This may signal the growing prestige and popularity of festivals and large outdoor spectacles, which give organizers greater flexibility and the ability to welcome record numbers of spectators.
The balance of 2025 paints a picture of a sector in excellent condition. Demand is growing faster than supply, forcing organizers to scale up their projects. Sport and music remain the foundation of the market, while strong concentration in the largest urban areas and the shift toward outdoor formats are shaping the sector’s development path for the coming years.
